Grays Court York Wedding Photography
Weddings at Grays Court York
Grays Court York is one of those wedding venues that never ceases to delight. I absolutely love being asked to be a wedding photographer at Grays Court York! There’s history & beauty everywhere you look. Just in case you didn’t already know, Grays Court is actually one of the oldest inhabited houses in York! Not only visited by medieval Minster treasurers but also 3 Royal visits! For nearly 200 years it was home to the Gray family. Now it’s been lovingly restored by new owners that have made it a wedding venue that they should be proud of. Weddings at Grays Court in York are always among my favourites!
It is a stunning historic building that’s overlooked by the medieval York city walls. I love to see people on the walls cheering on a newly married couple when they have chosen outside for their ceremony!
One of the most surprising elements to Grays Court is the gardens. While in the city centre you are surrounded by beautiful, lush greenery & stunning florals. The gardens are absolutely stunning & it doesn’t take long to see how much love & care has gone into the restoration of the grounds. The gardens really do make for a beautiful backdrop to some creative & natural York wedding photography.
I absolutely love photographing the beginning of the day. The anticipation, the organised chaos & the emotion. The bedrooms here are all beautiful to photograph in with gorgeous light & lots of space. The same can be said for the rest of the venue as well. There are some wonderful pockets of light & there’s no end of little spots around the gardens for photographs. And of course, there’s always to option to have a stroll outside around the cobbled streets of York & around the outside of the grand York Minster.
